How We Work

A clear Shopify process, from first review to approved launch

Every project is divided into clear stages with an agreed scope, regular updates and defined review points. You can see what is happening, provide feedback before we continue and approve the store before anything is published.

Clear scope before work begins
Secure Shopify Partner access
Review points at every stage
Nothing published without approval
Your live store remains protected

Theme work is normally completed in a controlled unpublished environment. You review the updated experience before it is published. App and store-setting changes are handled carefully and communicated in advance.

The Five-Stage Process

Know what happens at every stage of your Shopify project

From the first store review to final approval, each project follows a defined sequence. You will know what we are working on, what we need from you and when your review is required before the project moves forward.

Review Agree Build Approve Launch
01
Review

Discovery and Store Review

We begin by understanding your brand, products, customers and commercial priorities. For an existing store, we review the structure, product presentation, mobile experience, purchase flow and important conversion barriers.

What happens

We review the available store, content, products, theme setup, relevant apps and the information you provide about the business and project goals.

Your involvement

You provide the store details, priorities, available assets and the main problems you want the project to solve.

Outcome

A clearer understanding of the current store, the project opportunity and the recommended starting direction.

02
Agree

Scope and Priorities

The project is converted into a clear working scope. We identify the pages, features, integrations and improvements that matter most, together with relevant exclusions and dependencies.

What happens

We define the deliverables, project stages, responsibilities, review process, expected timing and agreed price before development begins.

Your involvement

You review the proposed scope, confirm the priorities and approve the direction before the next stage starts.

Approval point

Work begins only after the project scope and first stage are agreed.

03
Build

Design and Development

Oritenga develops the approved direction across desktop and mobile, focusing on clear product communication, strong visual hierarchy and an easy path to purchase.

What happens

Depending on the scope, this can include page structure, theme development, product pages, collections, cart experience, subscriptions, email integrations and responsive optimization.

Your involvement

You receive progress updates and may be asked for missing content, product information or decisions needed to keep the work moving.

Protected development environment

Theme work is normally completed in a controlled unpublished environment so the live shopping experience remains protected.

Outcome

A working project version prepared for structured client review.

04
Approve

Client Review and Revisions

You receive a clear preview of the completed stage and can review the work across desktop and mobile before anything is published.

What happens

Feedback is collected, clarified and applied within the agreed revision process. Larger requests outside the scope are discussed separately before additional work begins.

Your involvement

You review the shared version, provide consolidated feedback and confirm when the stage is ready to move forward.

Approval point

The stage is approved before final testing or publication.

05
Launch

Approval, Launch and Handover

After the final review, we complete the agreed testing, confirm launch readiness and publish the approved experience in a controlled manner.

What happens

We check responsive layouts, important links, forms, product options, cart behavior and the agreed integrations before launch.

Your involvement

You provide final approval before publication and receive the agreed handover information after launch.

Outcome

The approved Shopify experience is published, handed over and ready for ongoing operation.

Post-launch support and future improvements depend on the agreed project scope or ongoing support arrangement.

Project Communication

You are kept informed throughout the project

Project communication is kept clear and documented. We provide progress updates, identify decisions that are needed and share work for review at the agreed project stages.

Clear written updates
Defined feedback requests
Decisions recorded before work continues
Every stage includes a clear responsibility, review point and next step.

The Working Relationship

What you can expect while we work together

A well-managed Shopify project is not only about what gets built. It is also about knowing what has been agreed, what is happening now, who is responsible and which decisions are needed next.

Clear scope

Before work begins, the agreed stage is documented with its objectives, included work, responsibilities, review points and important exclusions.

Requests that change the agreed scope, timing or cost are discussed before additional work begins.

Agreed before work starts
Project update

Regular progress updates

You receive concise written updates showing what has been completed, what is currently in progress and what we need from you.

Important feedback, decisions and next steps are documented so the project does not depend on memory or scattered conversations.

Clear status and next steps

Dedicated project leadership

One accountable project lead coordinates the work, keeps the project aligned and makes sure questions, feedback and approvals reach the right people.

Technical details are translated into clear decisions and practical next steps for your team.

One clear point of responsibility

03

Practical recommendations

Recommendations are based on your current priorities, store maturity, available resources and the likely value of each improvement.

We separate essential work from optional enhancements so you can make informed decisions without unnecessary complexity.

Prioritized, not overcomplicated

Clear communication, documented decisions and practical guidance are built into the project—not added only when something goes wrong.

Secure Shopify Collaboration

Your Shopify store stays under your control

When access is required, Oritenga uses Shopify Partner collaborator access, development stores, or controlled permissions. Your personal Shopify password is not required.

Secure access No personal password sharing

Access is limited to the areas needed for the agreed project and can be removed when the work is complete.

We do not publish major changes without your knowledge and approval.
Security and control checklist A safer way to collaborate on Shopify
No password sharing

Your personal Shopify login details remain private.

Access only to required areas

Permissions can be limited to the parts of the store needed for the work.

Development stores when appropriate

New builds can be prepared separately before ownership or access is transferred.

Theme duplication before major changes

Important theme work can be prepared in a duplicate before affecting the live store.

Client review before publishing

You can review and approve major changes before customers see them.

Controlled launch and handover

Publishing and transition are handled after final checks and approval.

Access can be removed after completion

You retain control over permissions after the agreed work is finished.

Risk-Free Working Approach

See the direction before committing to the next stage

Every Shopify project is structured with clear review points. This allows you to see the work, provide feedback, and approve the direction before the next major stage begins.

Client Happiness Guarantee If you are not happy with the direction, we revise the work. If it still does not feel right, we can stop there and refund that stage.
01

Review

See the current direction and completed stage.

02

Revise

Request reasonable adjustments before approving it.

03

Approve or stop

Continue only when the direction is clear and acceptable.

We do not want clients to pay for work they do not want.
